All Sue Rioux Kaleidoscopes are hand-crafted and feature beautiful stained glass bodies. Many of Sue's designs have oil filled chambers for a stunning, slowly changing image. The views are also very bright due to the designs easily allowing in light.

Captiva The Captiva kaleidoscope has a 2 mirror view lined with intense blue accordion dichroic glass. The body is iridescent glass that is mostly teal and is adorned with a spiral sea shell and a dichroic glass bead. The liquid filled object chamber contains dichroic glass, beads and shells in the colors of the ocean. A limited edition of 100. Measures 3¼" h. x 5" w. x 9¼" long $360.

Frozen Motion Another stunning kaleidoscope. An icy iridescent body with clear cased periwinkle glass rods. Great wintry storm colors. Two views: both 2 mirror and 3 mirror, with a large liquid filled object chamber containing mostly dichroic glass along with white and clear beads. Numbered edition of 75. Measures 9" long x 6¼" w. x 2" h.

Gemstone Collection This is a 3 mirror system design available from ArtGlassUSA in 5 different body colors. Each has a liquid filled object chamber with color themes to match the body. The object chamber is capped on both sides with a large piece of patterned dichroic glass. Journey A beautiful dual view kaleidoscope with both 2 mirror and 3 mirror viewing ports. The diamond shaped body is a swirled lime green and teal glass. Sue Rioux has been pursuing artistic endeavors from a very young age. She has been designing and making kaleidoscopes and jewelry from glass for about 20 years.Sue lives and works in Kennebunk, Maine with her son Alex and their two cats. Her home and studio overlooks the Kennebunk River. Sue has the pleasure to work with several other talented women who assist her in her creative process. Sarah Smith works part-time with Sue making the kaleidoscopes. Sue's sister Pam helps out with the bookkeeping and shipping end of the business. |
