Artist Info:

Glass artists Rupama and Murray SchwartzKroma has been dancing this dance for 36 years. Murray Schwartz pioneered the transition of dichroics from scientific applications to... a fine state of the art. Rupama is the original source and creator and designer of dichroic glass jewelry. They love their work, have kids, grandkids, and live in the woods of Santa Fe.

From the technologies of thin film physics and vacuum deposition this unique and magical material evolved. The glass has a coating of oxides about 700 angstroms thick, which is indeed thin. Thin enough to allow narrow bands of color to selectively be either transmitted, absorbed or reflected; resulting in a partial mirror.

The colors are pure and uncontaminated and it is through the laws of refraction that these colors shift when viewed from different angles.
