From the technologies of thin film physics and vacuum deposition this unique and magical material evolved. The glass has a coating of oxides about 700 angstroms thick, which is indeed thin. Thin enough to allow narrow bands of color to selectively be either transmitted, absorbed or reflected; resulting in a partial mirror. The colors are pure and uncontaminated and it is through the laws of refraction that these colors shift when viewed from different angles. |
