Laminated glass sculpture by Michael and Misato Mortara

Sculptural glass by the Mortaras encompasses a combination of hand making glass cane, gathering glass, casting combining dichroics, laminating the handmade sections to optical glass, then intense grinding and polishing.

The resulting scultpures are stunning works of art.

This "Sea Floor" Laminate Sculpture rests on stainless steel posts which are embedded into a solid granite base.

Please note: Any hand gathered piece of this thickness (the lower section of the sculpture) will have some bubbles and cording visible in the glass. This is an attribute of hand gathered glass and not a defect.
