Art Glass by Gary Zack
Glass artist Gary Zack has retired.
We don't expect to receive any additional work to what we have available on this site.
Gary Zack has been involved with glass since 1978, as a successful commission stained artist and, more recently, as a blown glass artist, in Upstate New York. Zack has been involved with blown glass since 1994, and is mostly self-taught. His love of hot glass is founded on the immediacy and spontaneous nature of the material, as well as the interplay of color and light.
His work in blown glass involves rich, vibrant colors, and requires multiple layers of color in order to maintain the vivid contrast between exterior and interior surfaces. The application of contrasting lip-wrap finishes the pieces.
Seen above, the Circus Series is spontaneous and fun loving, with freeform shapes and clown-like demeanor. Transparent, multicolored polka dots of are scattered randomly upon a translucent, butter-colored background. The forms are topped with delicate applications of black and colored threads. These are available as single pieces or as sets.
